Sri Kasi Viswanathar Temple / Kasi Kayilangiri Gnana Jyothi Bala Ramalinga Natha Shivalogam at Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

When I came to know about this Siddhar Jeeva Samadhi, thought of Visiting this place. Also, it was learned that Pooja will be conducted between 03.30 hrs to 05.00 hrs.  This further increased my eagerness to make a visit. So on this Sunday ie 08^th October 2017, I was able to reach the temple around 05.00 hrs, before closing the temple. Had the darshan of Kasi Viswanathar.

 

The Shiva Linga is of swayambhu and Nandhi is in front mandapam.  It was learned that Siddhar Sri-la-Sri Balaramalinga Nathar worshipped Lord Shiva Kasi Viswanathar and attained Jeeva Samadhi at this place. His Jeeva Samadhi is in between Moolavar and Nandhi. 

On Pournami days special poojas are conducted three times during night hours. The poojas are conducted by one of the Siddhar Bala Ramalinga Nathar's disciples from Saidapet.  

It was said that the temple is more than 1000 years old. The kallala tree's roots spread on both sides of the entire sanctum walls.  The inside sanctum was paved with granite stone slabs without disturbing the kalala tree's roots.

TEMPLE TIMINGS:

The temple will be opened between 03.30 hrs to 12.00 hrs and poojas will be closed around 05.30 hrs.
