The
visit to this Shiva and Vishnu Temple complex at Komarapalayam was a part of the “Shiva,
Vishnu, Amman Temples and Heritage sites from Komarapalayam to Edappadi Visit”
– On 19th May 2024. Thanks to ல மா செல்வராசு, one
of my FB friends of Komarapalayam for taking me to all these places.
The
temple complex consists of Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple, Sri Kasi Visveshwara
Swami Temple, and the Anjaneyar Temple between them are on the banks of River
Kaveri. The total temple complex was built in recent years with bricks and
cement.
Sri
Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple
Moolavar : Sri Narayana Swamy
Thayar : Sri Lakshmi
Some
of the salient features of this temple are….
This
temple faces east. Balipeedam and Dwajasthambam in front of the temple.
Stucco images of Lakshmi Narayana, Rama with Sita and Lakshmana, and Maha Vishnu
with his consorts under Adiseshan’s hood are on the top of the mandapam.
Garudan is in the mandapam. Moolavar Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy is in sitting
posture and Sri Lakshmi is on the left lap of Perumal.
A
Two tier vesara Vimanam is on the sanctum sanctorum. Maha Vishnu’s various
avatars or forms are on the Tala and greeva koshtas.

Kasi Visveshwara Swami Temple

This
temple is facing east. Balipeedam and Rishabam are in front of the temple.
Stucco images of Shiva & Parvati as Rishabaroodar, Vinayagar, and Sri Valli
Devasena Subramaniar are on the top of the mandapam. Moolavar in the sanctum is
small. In koshtam, Vinayagar, Dakshinamurthy, Lingothbavar, Brahma and Durgai.
In
praharam Vinayagar, Sri Valli Devasena Subramaniar, Chandikeswarar and Ambal.
Ambal
is in a separate sannidhi facing south. Ambal is in standing posture with
abhaya varada hastam.
A

Anjaneyar
Temple
The
Anjaneyar temple is between Shiva and Maha Vishnu Temples. Anjaneyar is
in standing posture facing east in Anjali hastam.
HISTORY
AND INSCRIPTIONS
All three Temples are constructed and maha kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 06th
June 1996.
The
Vasantha mandapam in front of Anjaneyar sannidhi was constructed and Maha
Kumbhabhishekam was constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs and maha
kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 24th March 2013.

The
temple will be kept open between 07.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs to
20.00 hrs.

TO REACH
This
temple is 1.1 km from Komarapalayam bus Terminus, 1.9 km from Bhavani
Sangameswarar Temple, 17 km from Sankagiri, and 16.5 km from Erode.
The nearest railway station is Erode.
