Sri Vaitheeswarar Temple / ஸ்ரீ வைத்தீஸ்வரர் கோயில், Palayaseevaram / Pazhaiya Seevaram, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu.

After visiting the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on the Palayaseevam Hill on 1st May 2024, when inquired about any Shiva temple in the Village, people directed me to visit the mandapam and a Shiva Temple on the top of the Hill. This Sri Vaitheeswarar Temple is located on the Hill, with 100-odd steps from Sri Lakshmi Narashima Swamy Temple. The temple is close to Mandapam where Kanchipuram Varadaraja Perumal’s Utsava murti used to stay during his visit to Palayaseevaram.

Some of the salient features of this temple are…
The temple faces east only with a Shiva Lingam under a metacolour Sheet shed. Rishabam with balipeedam is in front of the temple.

It is believed that the Shiva lingam is more than 1000 years old. Efforts are on to construct a temple for Moolavar and Ambal.
