LEGENDS
This Temple is on the blind curve of Grand Southern Trunk Road in Alandur after Alandur Metro Station. Also, the flight lands and takes off just above the Temple. It was told that there was a warning board, which cautioned the Vehicles to stop, look on both sides for the flight cross, and proceed. In addition to that, due to blind curves and fast-moving vehicles, accidents frequently happen near the temple. After reconstructing this Vinayagar temple, the accident rate has come down.

To overcome the danger of flight crossing and, the safety of the flights and the passengers, the Metro Rail, has covered the Track and painted it with Red & White ( many claim that it is reflectors), from Alandur metro station to Meenambakkam runway start point. The Painting of Red & White gives a warning to the Pilots for a safe landing and taking off. The St Thomas Mount stretch also covered about 500 meters. This is the only place all over India where such a provision was made for the safety of Aeroplane and the Public.
