Ayyanar / அய்யனார், Ergampatti, Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu.

The Visit to this Ayyanar Temple Stones was a part of Hero Stones, Hero Sthambas also called Malakoil, Inscription Stones Visit in Tiruppur and Coimbatore Districts of “Kongu Mandalam” on 25^th July 2024. I extend my sincere thanks to Mr.Palladam Ponnuswamy of வீரராசேந்திரன் தொல்லியல் மற்றும் வரலாற்று ஆய்வு மையம் – Veerarajendran Tholliyal MaRRum VaralaRRu Ayyvu Maiyam, Tiruppur, for taking us ( Me & Mrs Sakthi Prakash ) to all these Heritage sites. 

This Ayyanar Panel and another idol are found at Ergampatti. The Ayyanar Temple is facing North. In Ayyanar idol, Ayyanar is sitting in Rajaleelasana with yogapatti. The yogapatti goes around Ayyanar’s body and the raised left leg. Ayyanar holds a chendu in the right hand and the left hand is resting on the left leg knee and hangs as Pallava hastam. His hair is shown like prabhai and wears padra kundala in the elongated earlobes. Poorna and Puskala are on both sides. Two Samaratharis are on the top of this Ayyanar panel. The idol on the right side of the Ayyanar panel is yet to be identified.
