This Perumal
Temple is very near to the south side entrance of the Fort and almost the center of
the Fort.
Moolavar : Sri
Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal.
Thayar : Sri Alarmelu
Mangai.
Some of the important
features of this temple are...
The temple faces east with an entrance arch. Garuda thoon is in
front of the temple. Garudalwar, balipeedam and Dwajasthambam are in the prakaram. The sanctum sanctorum consists of Sanctum, Artha mandapam and mukha mandapam. Moolavar Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal is with Sridevi and Bhoodevi on both sides. Urchavars are at the front.
In the outer prakaram
sannidhi for Lakshmi Narasimhar, Thayar, Andal, Chakkarathalwar, Alwars,
Anjaneyar, Garudalwar, Vaishnava Andal Saba and Srimath Nammalwar Saba.
HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
Inscriptions are at
the base of the sanctum. It was believed that
the temple was constructed by Vanangamudi Ketti Mudali during the 16th century.
He and his brother Komarakketti Mudali are the captains of Thirumalai Nayakkar.

The temple will be
kept open for darshan between 10.00 Hrs to 12.00 Hrs and 17.30 Hrs to 20.00
