Visit to this Shri Mahaveer Digamber Jain Temple at Irungur was a part of

The
temple faces east with a single sanctum sanctorum. The 14th
to 15th Century Mahavira Tirthankara is in sitting posture Chamaratharis are shown on both sides and a hallow is on the back of the
Tirthankara’s head. A Simha lanchana is
on the pedestal. The Idol was reworked and the lanchanam was added during the reworking. Usually, the earlier idols will not have the lanchanam.
HISTORY AND INSCRIPTION
The
Mahaveer idol was found abandoned in this village and a shelter was constructed
and consecrated on 27th November 2016, through the donations
received from Shri Prakash Chand
Barjatya, General Secretary, Shri Bharatvarshiya Digamber Jain Mahasabha.
