Maha Shivaratri 2020 –
Kanchipuram Shiva Temples Visit- 17
21st February 2020.
The visit to this
Ekambaranathar Temple was a part of the 2020 Maha Shivaratri Temples Visit, on 21st
February 2020. After Kayarohaneshwarar Temple’s visit, our next destination was this temple side Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam Madam at Pillayar Palayam.
Moolavar : Sri
Ekambaranathar
Some of the Salient
features of this temple are.....
Sannadhis of Arul Thiru Sivagnana Munivar, Sri Meikandar, and
Arul Thiru Kachiappa Munivar are immediately after the entrance arch. The Ekambaranathar
sannidhi / temple is inside the mutt. This temple faces east, only with
sanctum, Balipeedam, and Nandi. There is
no vimana. Believed that this Shiva Linga belongs to the Pallava period, where this
Thiru Kailaya Parambarai Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam now exists. This post is
mainly to focus on the Saints Sri Sivagnana Munivar and Kachiappa Munivar, both
wrote the Kanchipuram and attained Mukti in Kanchipuram.
Even though the Sri
Ekambaranathar temple is located inside Adheenam premises, stayed and worshiped by Sivagnana Munivar &
Kachiappa Munivar, both had not
mentioned this temple in
Kanchi Puranam.
