This temple is about 5 km from my residence. I
used to visit this temple once in a while at least once in 6 months. Here it is about the very very powerful
Anjaneyar of our city Chennai... at Nanganallur.
Moolavar:
Sri Viswaroopa Anjaneyar or Adhi
Vyadhi Hara Bhaktha Anjaneyar
Some
of the important features of this temple are...
The
temple is facing west with a 3 tier small Rajagopuram. Since the moolavar is 32
feet tall, vimanam is higher than the Rajagopuram.
On
the prakaram, sannadhi for Kothanda Ramar with Sita and Lakshmana on the
northwest corner & Garudan on the
opposite, Nagar, Ganapathy, Raghavendrar, Venugopalaswamy with Bama &
Rukmini on the south west corner, Madapalli and a Thulabharam. Both Rama and Venugopala Swamy sannadhis ( Which is rare in an Anjaneyar Temples. ) are facing east direction.
Three Continuous ghee lamps are burning on front of the sanctum for which the
devotees are offering ghee. All the services are rendered by the volunteers like
retired persons in a systematic way.
Prasadam is being distributed throughout the day.
HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
It
was told that the stone for this monolithic statue was brought from Sholingur
and chiseled here and land was donated by a lady. One of our subsidiary company
SPIC JEL engineering had participated in
the erection of Anjaneyar through cranes.
TEMPLE TIMINGS:
The
temple will be kept opened between 04.30 Hrs to 12.00 hrs and 16.00 hrs to
21.00 hrs.
