In the outer praharam sannadhi for Ambal, Valli Devasena Subramaniar, all are facing east. Since Lord Shiva, Sri Valli Devasena Subramaniyar and Ambal Loganayaki (Ambal's image is made with thiruvasi) are in a row facing the same direction, called the Somaskanda form.

ARCHITECTURE
The temple consists of the Sanctum Sanctorum, the ardha mandapam, and a mukha mandapam. The sanctum sanctorum is constructed in a unique fashion with eight elephants holding the Moolavar sanctum, similar to the Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple of Madurai. The reliefs on the adhistanam look beautiful.
