HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
These Jyeshta Devi / Thavvai, Manthan / Kulikan, and Mandhi sculptures are unearthed during the renovation of the Shiva temple. Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted after the installation of Jyeshta Devi on 11th September 2019. Later the stucco images were added in the Mukha mandapam and again Kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 23rd June 2021.

LEGENDS
During the process of churning Thiruparkadal to get amith, Jyeshta Devi came first. Kamadhenu, Iravatam, Asvam, Karpaga Vruksham, and Panchasanyam came later. Maha Lakshmi came after and married Maha Vishnu as per the Purana. Jyeshta Devi married Sanieeswaran and had a son and daughter called Manthan / Kulkan and Mandhi.

This temple is unique in nature since, Manthan / Kulikan and Manthi are individual idols, apart from the combined sculpture of Jyeshta Devi with Manthan and Manthi.

It is believed that worshiping Jyeshta Devi can get rid of Marriage and Childbirth obstacles, Eval, Billi Sunyam / Black magic, business obstacles, etc,.  It was learned from Thiru Ramachandra Reddiar, who is also known as Chandra Hasan, that after the construction of this temple, more than 200 devotees have got benefited.
